Ideas, talent and community: our 2025 off-site day

Published: 01/25/2026

On November 27, 2025, the Center for Infection and Immunity of Lille held an off-site day focused on science, discussion and team cohesion.

The event opened with a lecture by Dr Philippe Charlier on the links between forensic medicine, history and archaeology. It also marked the end of Dr Jean Dubuisson’s six-year term as center director; he reviewed key achievements before passing the baton to Dr Frank Lafont, who outlined the unit’s recent evaluation and upcoming organization.

Five early-career researchers then showcased the diversity of our research topics:

  • Dr Valentin Sencio – BCG’s Secret Life

  • Dr Silvia Gaggero – Extracellular acidity and immune cell functions

  • Dr Ernesto Anoz-Carbonell – ANTIBIOCLICKS

  • Dr Agustin Rolandelli – Flea factors in pathogen transmission

  • Dr Laurye Van Maele – Flagellin-based therapeutics

The day concluded with a talk by Dr Hugues Berry, head of Inserm’s new AI & Digital Division, on the use of artificial intelligence in our fields.

A heartfelt thank you to all contributors and support teams for making this day a success.
