ADMINISTRATION

General Secretariat

The General Secretariat of the Lille Center for Infection and Immunity (CIIL) is responsible for the operational management and coordination of all the unit’s support functions. It supports the management team and the scientific groups in the day-to-day operation of the laboratory, ensuring regulatory compliance, service quality, and smooth workflows.

Administrative and Institutional Management

The General Secretariat serves as the main interface between the unit and its supervisory institutions (CNRS, University of Lille, Inserm, Institut Pasteur of Lille, and Lille University Hospital). In this capacity, it:

  • implements institutional rules and procedures,
  • ensures follow-up of governance decisions,
  • contributes to the preparation and follow-up of the unit’s governing bodies,
  • supports organizational and regulatory developments.

A Cross-Cutting Role in Support of Research

Through its cross-cutting position, the General Secretariat helps create a stable, clear, and secure working environment, enabling CIIL teams to focus fully on their scientific activities. It operates with a strong commitment to proximity, dialogue, and continuous improvement, in support of the unit’s scientific project and all staff members.

Human Resources

The Human Resources unit of the General Secretariat coordinates human resources management for the unit, in close collaboration with the supervisory institutions’ services. Its activities include:

  • administrative follow-up of staff (permanent staff, contract staff, PhD students, interns),
  • support for recruitment processes and career development,
  • management of contracts, onboarding, and mobility,
  • informing and advising staff on HR rules and schemes.

Financial and Budgetary Management

The financial unit of the General Secretariat ensures CIIL’s financial management and monitors the resources allocated to the unit. Its responsibilities include:
• budget preparation and monitoring,
• execution of expenditures and revenues,
• financial monitoring of research contracts and projects,
• support for the financial steering of research teams and core facilities.

Support for Research Projects

The General Secretariat supports research teams in the administrative and financial setup and monitoring of research projects. In particular, it provides:

  • assistance with project preparation,
  • coordination with the relevant services of the supervisory institutions,
  • administrative and financial monitoring of projects throughout their lifecycle.

Facilities and Logistics

In a multi-site context, the facilities and logistics unit of the General Secretariat manages and coordinates physical resources and premises. While most CIIL teams are located in the Institut de Biologie de Lille, a CNRS building, other teams are housed in the Émile Roux building, which belongs to the Institut Pasteur of Lille.
In this capacity, the facilities and logistics unit is responsible for:

  • monitoring premises and workspaces
  • coordinating technical and maintenance interventions,
  • managing logistics and associated services,
  • liaising with the real estate and technical services of the relevant supervisory institutions.
