PhD Student profiles

I try to maintain a healthy balance between work and personal life, and I find it easier to disconnect from the lab when I engage in a variety of activities outside of work. One of my regular hobbies is fencing—I practice épée every week. I have been doing it for several years now, although purely as a recreational activity rather than at a competitive level.

I also enjoy traveling and discovering new places, although it can sometimes be expensive, so those opportunities remain relatively occasional. Most of my trips are within France or nearby countries for budget reasons, but I had the chance to visit Japan a few years ago, and it remains one of my favorite travel memories to this day.

Beyond that, spending time with others in a relaxed setting and engaging in thoughtful conversations is another great way for me to unwind and broaden my perspective. I help organize the “Café Philo” discussion groups, which take place every other Wednesday and explore a wide range of themes and topics.

More generally, I particularly enjoy calm and open-minded environments that encourage dialogue. They make it much easier to understand one another and to meet people without preconceived judgments. I hope to continue evolving in this kind of environment, both personally and professionally, in the years to come.
