Expertise

I worked with numerous eukaryotic parasites belonging to the phylum Apicomplexa (Toxoplasma, Plasmodium, and Cryptosporidium), and have therefore acquired expertise on their life cycle, their cell cycle, and the stages responsible for invading and controlling the host cell. I have also acquired expertise in modifying the genome of these parasites, particularly in molecular genetics techniques that enable conditional gene expression. I have taken a particular interest in the mechanisms regulating gene expression in these parasites. To this end, I have studied the factors that enable transcriptional and cell cycle regulation.
