COMPETENCES / EXPERTISE
From 1991 to 2014: research projects on the biology of Pneumocystis spp. My research program focused on the interaction of Pneumocystis spp. with alveolar epithelial cells and on two other aspects of the pathophysiology of pneumocystosis (i) the host specificity of Pneumocystis sp. and (ii) the role of pulmonary surfactant in parasite development.
Since 2015: research project on the molecular and functional characterization of Plasmodium falciparum-specific phosphatases with the main objective of developing new antimalarial molecules.
Expertise :
- Animal models of pneumocystosis in mice and rats
- Endotracheal inoculation
- P. berghei mouse model
- Immunofluorescent staining and confocal analysis
- Reverse genetics in P. falciparum (CrispR/Cas9, DICRE)
- Culture of P. falciparum and generation of resistant mutants
- Cytotoxicity on HFF and HepG2 cells
- Pharmacokinetic study in mice
- Recombinant protein production
- Phosphatase activity analysis
